Diners decide in a few taps.

Before they book a table or order, people check the menu, the prices, the opening hours and the photos. If the menu is a blurry PDF, the hours are out of date or the booking button is hard to find, they may book somewhere else instead.

Start with what diners look for. GoDaddy's UK guide to website costs says a menu page, photos, reviews, a map and directions, and a way to contact or book with you should be the highest priority for a cafe or restaurant website. We build all of them in, written for your place.

Then we keep it right. Send us a new menu, new hours or a festive set menu and we update the site and what your assistant knows.

Do you have gluten-free options? And can I book a table for six on Saturday?

Your Restaurant marks gluten-free dishes on the menu, but for allergies or how a dish is made, please speak to our staff, who can tell you exactly what's in it. You can book Saturday with the booking button, or I can take your details for the team to call you.

Illustration. The assistant answers from your menu and details, and always sends allergy questions to your staff.

Food law your website should respect.

Selling food online comes with rules. This is a plain summary of the official guidance, not legal advice, and the Food Standards Agency's own pages are the final word.

Allergens when you sell online. If customers order through your website or by phone for delivery or collection, the FSA's allergen guidance says allergen information must be provided before the purchase is completed and again when the food is delivered. Only the 14 allergens named in food law have to be declared as allergens.

Your hygiene rating online. The FSA encourages businesses to show their food hygiene rating on their website or social media as well as in the window, and offers rating images to download. In Wales and Northern Ireland, displaying the rating at each customer entrance is a legal requirement. In Wales, takeaway menus and leaflets that let people order without visiting must also carry a bilingual statement pointing customers to the food hygiene ratings website.

Restaurant website questions, answered.

How much does a restaurant website cost?

With Buzzozo, nothing for the first 14 days. Then the Website plan is from £149 a month for the first 100 businesses, a founding price locked for life, and from £299 a month after that. Hosting, SSL, daily backups and updates are included. For comparison, GoDaddy's UK guide puts a designer-built hospitality website at £5,355 for the first year and £855 a year or more after that.

Can customers order food through my website?

Yes, in two ways. We can link clearly to the ordering or delivery service you already use, or build ordering into your own site as a custom build, priced with you before any work starts. If you sell food online, allergen information has to be provided before the order is completed and when the food is delivered.

Can I take table bookings on my website?

Yes. We add a clear booking button that links to the booking system you use, on every page and in the assistant's answers. If you'd like booking built around how you work, ask us about a custom build.

Will the AI assistant answer allergy questions?

No. It never tells a customer whether a dish is safe for their allergy. It points them to your allergen information and to your staff, who know exactly what goes into each dish.

Should my menu be a PDF?

We'd put it on the page as text. Text reads well on a phone, is quicker to update and can be read by Google and AI answers. You can keep a PDF to download as well if you like.

Who updates the menu and prices?

We do. Send us the new menu or prices and we update the site and what the assistant knows, so your website and your assistant always say the same thing.

Do I still need a website if I'm on delivery apps?

Delivery apps list you next to other restaurants. Your own website is where people check your menu, hours and photos, book a table, ask about events and find you on a map, on a domain registered in your name.
