Buzzozo

AI bookkeeping.
Your bookkeeper still signs it off.

AI bookkeeping uses an assistant for the paperwork around your books: collecting receipts, reading the supplier, date and amount, suggesting a category and listing missing invoices. Buzzozo sets it up around how you already work. It is admin support with human review, never financial or tax advice, and a person checks every entry.

The bookkeeping admin it takes off your desk

Receipt collection

Gather receipts and supplier invoices sent through the route you agree, and turn each one into a draft record with supplier, date, amount and reference.

Suggested categories

Suggest a category from the rules your bookkeeper sets. A suggestion stays a draft until a person confirms it.

Missing paperwork

Compare your receipts with a statement export you supply and list the payments with no paperwork, so gaps surface each week rather than at year end.

Invoice reminders

Draft polite reminders for customer invoices that are overdue. You choose which ones go out, and when.

Customer questions

Your website assistant answers routine questions about how to pay you and who to contact about an invoice, using information you approve.

A tidy weekly list

Drafts to confirm, likely duplicates and missing documents arrive in one list for your bookkeeper, with the original document attached to each line.

Where the assistant stops

What it does

  • Reads receipts and invoices you send it
  • Drafts records and suggests categories
  • Lists missing paperwork and likely duplicates
  • Drafts reminders for you to approve

What stays with people

  • Posting entries to your accounts
  • Tax, VAT and financial advice
  • Filing returns and paying bills
  • Logging in to your bank or tax account

Matching amounts are treated as candidates, not proof. Two charges of the same amount in one month look alike, so the assistant lists them side by side and leaves anything ambiguous open until your bookkeeper settles it.

An order confirmation or card slip is flagged as a missing invoice, not filed as one. HMRC’s VAT Notice 700/12 says you cannot claim input VAT on your return unless you have a proper VAT invoice to support the claim. Your bookkeeper decides what to do about each gap.

Nothing is deleted. HMRC’s record-keeping guidance says you must generally keep business records for VAT purposes for at least 6 years. The assistant flags a suspected duplicate for a person to check; it never removes a receipt, an invoice or a statement line.

Receipts and statements contain personal and financial data. They travel by the private route you agree, never through the public website chat, and bank details and tax references stay out of it.

What a week can look like

Illustrative example: a decorator sends photos of receipts from the van during the week. Each one becomes a draft record with supplier, date and amount, plus a suggested category from the rules their bookkeeper set.

On Friday the bookkeeper opens one list: drafts to confirm, two card payments with no receipt yet and a fuel receipt where the VAT figure was unreadable. They correct, confirm and ask for the missing paperwork. Nothing reaches the books without their sign-off.

Your website, with an assistant that knows its limits

The Website plan is £149/month, excluding VAT where applicable. Custom design, managed hosting, changes and support come together, so one team looks after your website.

Your AI chat assistant includes a monthly usage allowance, with top-ups available. Bookkeeping admin workflows, such as receipt collection and draft categories, are scoped separately. We agree what the assistant reads, what it drafts and who checks it before work starts.

Questions about AI bookkeeping

Is AI bookkeeping the same as having a bookkeeper?

No. The assistant does the paperwork around your books: it collects receipts, drafts records and lists what is missing. Your bookkeeper or accountant checks each entry and decides what goes into your accounts.

Does the assistant give tax or financial advice?

No. It does not say what you can claim, which VAT treatment applies or how to run your finances. Those questions go to your bookkeeper or accountant, and the assistant says so.

Will it post entries, file returns or make payments?

No. Everything it prepares is a draft until a person approves it. It does not file returns, pay bills or move money. You or your accountant submit anything that goes to HMRC.

Does it need access to my bank account?

No. It works from the documents and statement exports you choose to send. We never ask for bank, tax account or card logins.

Can it work with my current accounting software?

We check the connection options for your current tools before agreeing a setup, then test the route with sample records. Where a direct connection is not suitable, drafts arrive as a list your bookkeeper can import or key in.

What is included in the Website plan?

The Website plan is £149/month, excluding VAT where applicable. It brings custom design, managed hosting, changes, support and an AI chat assistant together. The assistant has a monthly usage allowance; top-ups are available. Bookkeeping admin workflows are scoped separately.

Can we try it before paying?

Yes. Start with a free 14-day trial, no card needed. Cancel any time. We agree what the assistant reads, what it drafts and who checks it before anything runs on real paperwork.
