Drivers pick a garage from their phone.
A warning light comes on, the MOT reminder lands, or the car starts making a noise on the school run. The driver opens their phone and types a few words. They look at two or three garages nearby and book the one that makes it easy. That means a clear list of what you do, an honest idea of the price and a way to get a slot without waiting on hold.
Your website should do the booking for you. Most garages lose work at the front desk, not in the workshop. When the phone rings while you're under a car, the caller tries the next garage. A booking form that asks for the registration, the job and a preferred day catches that driver, and you confirm when you come up for air.
Dealers have the same problem with stock. A buyer who finds a car they like at 11pm wants to know it's still there, what's been done to it and whether they can part-exchange. We build that in, written for your forecourt.
My MOT runs out next Friday. Can you fit me in, and how much is it?
Your Garage tests cars Monday to Saturday. The MOT for a car is the price shown on our MOT section, and the most any test station can charge is set by the government. I can take your registration, phone number and a day that suits, and the team will confirm a time. Shall I do that?
What do drivers type into Google?
Every one of these searches is a driver close to booking. Your site needs a clear answer to each.
| “garage near me” | A garage they can trust, close by. Your town and the areas you cover on the first screen, with a call button. | 201,000 a month |
|---|---|---|
| “mot near me” | An MOT this week. Your MOT price, the days you test and a way to book. | 110,000 a month |
| “mechanic near me” | Someone who can look at the car soon. Your repair services and how to get the car to you. | 74,000 a month |
| “mot booking” | A slot without a phone call. An online form that takes the registration and a day. | 49,500 a month |
| “car service near me” | An interim or full service. What each service covers and what it costs. | 22,200 a month |
| “car diagnostics near me” | A warning light explained. What a diagnostic check is and how to book one. | 2,900 a month |
| “mot and service” | Both jobs in one visit. Show the combined option if you offer one. | 8,100 a month |
| “clutch replacement cost” | A price before they commit. A guide price and what changes it. | 4,400 a month |
| “used cars near me” | Cars for sale nearby. Your stock with real photos, mileage and history. | 49,500 a month |

What does a garage website need to win the booking?
Built into every garage and dealer website we make, laid out for a driver on a phone.
| MOT, servicing and repairs, each with its own section | What's included, how long it takes and what it costs. Clear sections also help Google and AI answers match you to the job a driver searched for. | |
|---|---|---|
| Online booking that asks the right things | Registration, the job, a preferred day and a phone number, sent straight to you. | |
| Prices that are the full price | If a price on your site leaves out a charge every customer pays, the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) says that is drip pricing, and it is banned. We show totals and say clearly what can change. | CMA |
| An MOT history link | The free government service shows a car's past MOT results and recorded mileage. Linking it builds trust, and dealers can use it on every car for sale. | |
| Stock pages for dealers | Real photos, mileage, MOT and service history and a clear description, because a car sold by a trader must match its description. | Consumer law |
| Finance wording done right | If an advert shows a rate or a monthly cost, the rules of the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) ask for a representative example and the representative annual percentage rate (APR). A broker must say it is a broker and not a lender. | FCA |
| An AI chat assistant | Answers questions about your services, hours and prices day and night, takes the registration and the job and passes it to you. | In the trial |
| Hosting, security certificate (SSL) and daily backups | We look after the hosting, SSL, daily backups and updates. | Website plan |
What does the AI assistant do for a garage?
Our AI chat assistant handles the questions your front desk hears all day, and knows what to leave to your technicians.
- Takes MOT and service bookingsAsks for the registration, the job and a day that suits, and sends it to you to confirm.
- Explains early MOTsThe government lets a driver get an MOT up to a month, minus a day, before it runs out and keep the same renewal date. The assistant can say so, and book them in early.
- Won't diagnose the carA knocking noise or a warning light needs your eyes. It takes the symptoms and passes them on, without guessing the fault or the cost.
- Answers stock questions for dealersIs the car still there, can I part-exchange, can I book a test drive? It answers from your stock details and books the visit.
- Leaves finance to your teamIt never quotes rates or says whether someone will be accepted. Finance questions go to a person.
- Learns your changesNew prices, new opening hours or a car sold: we update the site and what the assistant knows.
A real garage site we built.
VRS London is an independent garage in Ilford. Open the site to see it working.

VRS London
vrslondon.com (opens in a new tab)Independent garage in Ilford. We built the new site and put it live: MOT, servicing and repair pages, online booking, and a chat assistant that answers from the garage's own details.
What we set up for VRS London. Separate sections for the MOT, servicing and repairs, so a driver who searched for one job lands on it. Booking online, so the workshop is not stopped by the phone. And a chat assistant that answers from the garage's own details: what it does, when it is open and how to book.
Yours would start the same way: the jobs you want more of first, your prices and hours in plain words, and booking that sends the details straight to you.
Which rules must a garage website follow?
We write your pages with these in mind. The sources are the official pages, checked on 28 October 2026.
| MOT fees have a ceiling | The government sets the most a test station can charge: £54.85 for a car and £29.65 for a standard motorcycle. Your MOT price must not be above it. | UK government |
|---|---|---|
| No hidden extras | Since 6 April 2025, under the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024, showing a headline price and adding a charge every customer has to pay later is drip pricing, and it is banned. | CMA |
| Cars must match the advert | Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, a car sold by a trader must match its description, so the mileage, history and photos in the advert have to be right. | Consumer law |
| Finance adverts follow the credit rules | Section 3.5 of the Consumer Credit sourcebook (CONC) says a promotion that shows a rate or a cost of credit must also show a representative example and the representative APR. | FCA |
