What should a barber’s website do?

Most people looking for a barber are standing in the street or sitting on a bus. They want four answers on a phone in under a minute: are you open now, can I walk in or do I need to book, what does my cut cost, and who will cut it? A barber’s website puts those four answers at the top, then gives one clear next step: book a chair or come in.

Hours matter more for a barbershop than for most businesses, because late evenings and Sundays are when many customers are free. Google says Local Business structured data can tell it about business hours and different departments within a business, each with its own opening hours or telephone numbers (Google: local business structured data). Schema.org has a HairSalon type that sits under LocalBusiness (Schema.org: HairSalon). Your website states your real hours once, in plain words and in that structured data, so the two always agree.

Trust is the other half. The Hair Council says registration by hairdressers and barbers is voluntary, and that no law stops anyone setting up as a barber, even with no qualifications (Hair Council: about us). So a customer choosing a new barber looks for proof: the barbers’ names, their training and experience, and photos of real cuts. Your website shows those plainly, and says whether you are State Registered if you are.

From the street to the chair: what does each customer need?

Six parts of a barber website, six customer decisions
Price listA customer checking what a skin fade or beard trim costs. Every cut and service with its total price: skin fade, scissor cut, beard trim, hot towel shave, kids’ cuts and any concession prices. If customers cannot avoid a booking or card fee, it goes into the price shown, not in small print at checkout.
Online bookingA customer who wants a chair at a set time. A booking button on every page that opens the booking app you already use, or a short request form if you prefer to confirm by message. Any deposit, and what happens to it if they cancel or miss the slot, is stated before they book.
Walk-in timesA customer who would rather just turn up. The days and hours you take walk-ins, how busy those times usually are, and whether walk-ins stop before closing. If you keep some chairs for walk-ins only, the page says so.
Barber profiles and cutsA customer choosing who cuts their hair. A photo and a few lines for each barber: what they are known for, their training and the days they work. A gallery of real cuts, used with each customer’s permission, shows the work better than any description.
Opening hours and finding youA customer checking whether you are open now. Hours for every day, including late nights, Sundays and bank holidays, the address, nearby parking or transport, and a map link. The same hours go into the page’s structured data.
ReviewsA customer looking for proof before trying somewhere new. Genuine reviews, published with each customer’s permission and never paid for in secret. We link to the review sites you use rather than copy a star rating we cannot keep up to date.

Your own website includes only the parts your shop needs. A one-chair barber taking walk-ins might need three; a shop with several chairs and its own booking app might need all six.

What rules should a barber website follow?

Show the total price: CMA guidance says the total price should normally include any unavoidable or ‘mandatory’ charges, and that it is illegal to hide additional fees until later in the purchase process, which is sometimes called drip pricing (CMA: clear and accurate prices). Where a price depends on hair length or style, the same guidance allows an indicative price as long as it includes all mandatory charges and does not mislead. Your price list shows what the customer will actually pay.

Online bookings and deposits: when customers book and pay online for a service worth more than £42, GOV.UK says the business must tell them, before the order is placed, the price including all taxes, how they can cancel and when they lose the right to cancel, and any conditions for money given as a deposit (GOV.UK: online and distance selling). Your booking page states your deposit and cancellation policy in plain words before the customer commits.

Reviews: a short CMA guide for businesses lists fake reviews and concealed incentivised reviews, such as a review written in exchange for a free cut that does not say so, as banned content. Each trader who publishes reviews is responsible for preventing and taking steps to remove it (CMA: short guide on consumer reviews). Advertising rules also say marketers must hold documentary evidence that a testimonial is genuine, and must not feature a testimonial without permission (ASA: testimonials and endorsements). We publish only reviews you can show are real.

Qualifications: because registration by barbers is voluntary (Hair Council: about us), the website lists only the training, awards and registrations each barber actually holds. We never invent them to fill a profile.

Taking payment: the Website plan includes a booking button or request form and links to the booking or payment service you already use. A custom booking system with payments and customer accounts is scoped and quoted separately, so you only pay for it when the shop needs it.

How do we build your barber website remotely?

Buzzozo works with barbers remotely across the UK by phone, WhatsApp and email, so you never lose a chair to a meeting. You know your customers and your street; we turn that into a website you can check on your own phone between cuts.

  1. Tell us about the shop. Your barbers, the days each one works, your price list, your hours and whether you take walk-ins, bookings or both. Send photos of the shop and of cuts you are allowed to share.
  2. Write the words. We draft the price list, barber profiles and booking page from what you tell us. You approve every word before launch, and we never invent reviews, awards or qualifications.
  3. Set the booking route. Decide where each booking goes: the booking app you already use, a request form, a phone call or WhatsApp. We add your deposit and cancellation policy where the customer will see it.
  4. Try the live website. During the free 14-day trial you test the pages and booking route on a real website. No card is needed, and you can cancel any time.
  5. Hand over the upkeep. We look after Buzzozo cloud hosting, SSL and software updates. Send us new prices, a barber who joins or new Sunday hours. Anything outside the plan’s agreed scope is quoted before work starts.

For example, a one-chair barber who works walk-ins only could put today’s hours and a map at the top of the page. A shop with four chairs, where some barbers rent their chair, might give each barber a profile with their own booking link. These are planning examples, not named projects or promised outcomes.

Try your own barber website free for 14 days, no card needed. If you already have a website, tell us which pages and booking links you want to keep.

What does the fixed £149 a month include?

The Website plan is £149 a month, fixed. It is monthly with no contract, so you can cancel any time. Our prices exclude VAT where applicable. Larger or more complex websites are quoted. The first 14 days are free, no card needed. The plans page sets out the full terms.

The table compares the plan with what premium providers typically charge when each service is bought separately. These figures are rounded from UK list prices we checked on 28 and 29 October 2026. They are a guide, not a quote, and providers change their prices.

Questions barbers ask about their website

Can customers book a chair through my barber website?

Yes. The Website plan includes a booking button that opens the booking app you already use, or a request form if you prefer to confirm by message. A custom booking system with payments is scoped and quoted separately.

Can my website show walk-in times as well as bookings?

Yes. The website lists the days and hours you take walk-ins next to the booking button, so customers can choose. If you keep some chairs for walk-ins only, the page says so.

Should my price list include card or booking fees?

Yes, if customers cannot avoid them. CMA guidance says the total price should normally include any unavoidable charges, and hiding fees until later is illegal. We show the price each customer will actually pay. This is not legal advice.

Can my website take deposits for bookings?

It can link to the booking or payment service you already use. GOV.UK says that for online orders worth more than £42, customers must be told the price, how to cancel and any deposit conditions before the order is placed, so we put your policy on the booking page.

How much is the Website plan?

The Website plan is £149 a month, fixed, monthly with no contract. Our prices exclude VAT where applicable. Larger or more complex websites are quoted. The plans page lists the full scope and terms.

How does the free 14-day trial work?
