What should a flooring website do?

A flooring website shows the floors you fit, takes room sizes and photos for a quote, books measuring visits and shows your finished work. Someone replacing a kitchen floor or carpeting a staircase asks four things before they get in touch: which floors do you fit, what will my room cost, when can you come and measure, and what does your finished work look like? A flooring website answers those on a phone in a minute, then offers one clear next step: send the room details or book the measure.

The room comes first because no two floors cost the same. The price depends on the area, the subfloor, the old covering that has to come up, the doorways and the furniture to move. When every request arrives with rough sizes and a few photos, you can give a sensible range or book the right length of visit, and nobody waits a week for a figure that changes on the day.

Trust comes next, because a fitter works inside someone’s home. HSE says asbestos may be part of any commercial or domestic building which was built or refurbished before the year 2000, and lists floor tiles among the places it can still be found (HSE: asbestos frequently asked questions). So your website says plainly what you check before lifting an old floor, and what happens if you find tiles you are not sure about.

From first look to finished floor: what does each customer need?

Six parts of a flooring website, six buying decisions
Floors you fit and supplyA homeowner choosing between wood, laminate, vinyl and carpet. A page for each floor type you fit, with the rooms it suits, how it copes with pets, water and stairs, and whether you supply the material or fit what the customer buys.
Samples and finishesA customer who wants to see colour in their own light. Photos of the ranges and finishes you offer, with a simple way to ask for samples or to see them at your showroom or on a measuring visit.
Measuring visit bookingA customer ready for someone to come and measure. A short form asking for the postcode, the rooms and the days that suit. Each request reaches your inbox or WhatsApp, so you can confirm the visit the same day.
Quote request with room sizes and photosA landlord or homeowner who wants a figure first. Fields for each room’s rough size, the current floor, whether it needs lifting, and photos of the room and doorways. You reply with a range or a visit, not a guess.
Finished floors galleryA neighbour who saw your work and wants proof. Before-and-after photos from real jobs, each with the floor type and room, published with the homeowner’s permission.
Showroom or areas coveredA customer checking you come to them. Your showroom address and opening hours if customers visit, or the towns you cover if you work from a van. A separate page for each main area answers local searches, written fresh for that area.

Your own website includes only the parts your work needs. A sole fitter covering one town might need three; a shop with a showroom, a supply-only range and two fitting teams might need all six.

What rules should a flooring website follow?

Jobs agreed in the customer’s home: many floors are sold on a measuring visit, at the customer’s kitchen table rather than at your premises. For service contracts agreed away from your premises, the Consumer Contracts Regulations say the cancellation period ends at the end of 14 days after the day on which the contract is entered into; for a sales contract, it ends 14 days after the goods come into the customer’s physical possession (Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, regulation 30). They also say the trader must not begin the supply of a service before the end of the cancellation period unless the consumer has made an express request, made on a durable medium for an off-premises contract (Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, regulation 36). So your terms page and quote confirmation explain how a customer asks you to fit sooner. This is not legal advice.

Selling flooring online: if you sell supply-only flooring or samples online, GOV.UK says you must tell the customer they can cancel their order up to 14 days after their order is delivered, and lists the conditions for money given as a deposit among the details to give (GOV.UK: online and distance selling). Your website states your own deposit, delivery and returns terms in plain words.

Reviews: advertising rules say marketers must hold documentary evidence that a testimonial is genuine, and must not feature a testimonial without permission (ASA: testimonials and endorsements). The Competition and Markets Authority has also published guidance on how businesses should comply with consumer protection law on consumer reviews (CMA: fake reviews guidance). We publish reviews you can show records for, never invented ones.

Showroom or van: Google describes a service area business as one that visits or delivers to customers directly but does not serve customers at its business address, and says that if you don’t serve customers at your business address, you should remove it from your Business Profile (Google Business Profile Help: service area businesses). Your website matches that choice: a showroom shows its address and hours, while a mobile fitter lists the areas covered.

Online sample shops and payments: the Website plan includes measure and quote requests and links to the payment service you already use. An online shop for samples or supply-only flooring is scoped and quoted separately, so you pay for it only when your business needs it.

How do we build your flooring website remotely?

Buzzozo works with flooring fitters and shops remotely across the UK by phone, WhatsApp and email, so you can answer our questions between jobs. We turn what you tell us into a website you can check on your phone between fittings.

  1. Tell us how you work. The floors you fit, whether you supply material, the areas you cover and whether you have a showroom. Send any photos of finished floors you are allowed to use.
  2. Write the words. We draft the floor type, area and showroom pages from what you tell us. You approve every word before launch, and we never invent reviews, jobs or ranges.
  3. Set the quote route. Choose where each measure or quote request goes: your inbox, your phone or WhatsApp. We add the questions you always ask, such as room sizes, the current floor and access, so your first reply can give a range or a visit time.
  4. Try the live website. During the free 14-day trial you test the pages and request forms on a real website. No card is needed, and you can cancel any time.
  5. Hand over the upkeep. We look after Buzzozo cloud hosting, SSL and software updates. Send us a new range, a change of area or fresh photos of finished floors. Anything outside the plan’s agreed scope is quoted before work starts.

For example, a carpet and vinyl fitter working from a van could list two floor types, one area page and a quote form that takes photos. A shop with a showroom might add a samples page, opening hours and a gallery for each floor type. These are planning examples, not named projects or promised outcomes.

Try your own flooring website free for 14 days, no card needed. If you already have a website, tell us which pages, photos and links you want to keep.

What does the fixed £149 a month include?

The Website plan is £149 a month, fixed. It is monthly with no contract, so you can cancel any time. Our prices exclude VAT where applicable. Larger or more complex websites are quoted. The first 14 days are free, no card needed. The plans page sets out the full terms.

The table compares the plan with what premium providers typically charge when each service is bought separately. These figures are rounded from UK list prices we checked on 28 and 29 October 2026. They are a guide, not a quote, and providers change their prices.

Questions flooring fitters ask about their website

Can customers book a measuring visit on my website?

Yes. The Website plan includes a booking request form that asks for the postcode, the rooms and the days that suit, and sends each request to your inbox or WhatsApp. A live diary that syncs with your calendar is scoped and quoted separately.

Can customers send room sizes and photos for a quote?

Yes. Your quote form can ask for rough room sizes, the current floor and photos of the room and doorways, so you can reply with a range or the right length of visit.

Should my website explain cancellation for jobs agreed at the customer’s home?

Yes. For contracts agreed away from your premises, the Consumer Contracts Regulations set a 14-day cancellation period and say how a customer can ask you to start sooner. We write your terms page in plain words from your own terms. This is not legal advice.

Can I show photos of floors I have fitted?

Yes, with the homeowner’s permission. Customer reviews have their own advertising rules: you must hold documentary evidence that a testimonial is genuine and must not use one without permission. We publish only reviews and photos you can show records for.

How much is the Website plan?

The Website plan is £149 a month, fixed, monthly with no contract. Our prices exclude VAT where applicable. Larger or more complex websites are quoted. The plans page lists the full scope and terms.
