A small business owner works on a laptop showing a simple website layout beside a busy east London high street with shops, a cafe and a market stall.

Six boroughs, 79,850 firms: east London is a place of small businesses.

The six outer and inner east London boroughs, as the statistics offices count them on 29 October 2026. The bracket shows micro firms, those employing nine people or fewer.

Every one of the six boroughs grew faster between the 2011 and 2021 censuses than England as a whole, which grew by 6.6%; Tower Hamlets grew fastest, by 22.1% (ONS Census 2021). Together the six are home to 79,850 enterprises, and 73,720 of them, about 92 in every 100, are micro businesses with fewer than ten people (Nomis business counts by size band; the totals add up the six borough figures).

In a firm of five people the website belongs to nobody, so it slips to Sunday evening and then to never. We take that job off the list: we build the site, run it, keep it current and pick up when you need a change.

Who trades in east London: six industries, six different websites.

We picked six of the eighteen industry groups because no two of them need the same site. Figures as of 29 October 2026.

Six industries across six east London boroughs: firm counts, the two boroughs with most of each, and what their websites need
IndustryFirms in the six boroughs, 2026What its website must show
Construction13,420; most in Havering (3,050), then Redbridge (2,725).Photos of finished jobs, the postcodes and towns you cover, accreditations you hold, and a call button plus a two-minute quote request everywhere.
Professional, scientific and technical11,445; most in Tower Hamlets (3,480), then Redbridge (2,225).One clear page per service, who it is for, the qualifications you hold, and a way to book an initial chat without sharing anything private.
Retail7,910; most in Newham (1,915), then Tower Hamlets (1,635).Opening hours that are always right, what is in stock or on offer, a map link and directions from the station or the bus stop.
Information and communication7,550; most in Tower Hamlets (2,630), then Redbridge (1,370).Plain-English pages on the product or service, the clients you already work with and the quickest way for a buyer to get a demo or a call.
Accommodation and food services5,030; most in Tower Hamlets (1,320), then Newham (1,005).A menu that matches the counter, booking or ordering in one tap, and events and opening times kept current through the year.
Motor trades1,675; most in Havering (370), then Redbridge (355).MOT, servicing and repair pages with prices you choose to show, a booking request and an answer outside opening hours.

The mix changes from one end of east London to the other. Construction firms are the largest group in Havering, Redbridge, Barking and Dagenham, Newham and Waltham Forest; in Tower Hamlets, professional services (3,480) and information and communication (2,630) lead. All six industry rows come from the 2026 business counts by industry (Nomis). They describe the boroughs, not our customers.

From Ilford to the Royal Docks: where east London does business.

Quoted from the council, the place itself or Companies House, as published on 29 October 2026.

Five east London trading places, in the words of their own sources, and what a business website there must do
PlaceIn the source’s own wordsWhat a website there must do
Ilford and RedbridgeOur company is registered on Eastern Avenue in Ilford (Companies House). Redbridge Council runs a business service whose stated aim is to help the borough’s local businesses and town centres grow (Redbridge Council).Ilford high-street firms compete with central London and with the shops along the Central line, so the site has to show up for searches that name Ilford, Gants Hill or Seven Kings, and answer the phone straight away.
Romford MarketA large outdoor retail market that first opened in 1247 by Royal Order as a sheep and cattle market, and still trades every Wednesday, Friday and Saturday (Havering Council).Market traders sell on three days and get asked questions on the other four. A site that shows the days, the pitch and this week’s stock, with a way to order ahead, keeps those sales.
Tower Hamlets street marketsThe council calls its street markets some of the most iconic in London and supports 10 of them (Tower Hamlets Council).Food and retail traders here are found by visitors on a phone in the street: one page with what you sell, when you trade and how to pay, quick to load on a weak signal.
Queen Elizabeth Olympic ParkThe park’s East Bank includes BBC Music Studios, Sadler’s Wells East, UCL East and V&A East (Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park).Cafés, studios and services near the park get visitors who plan around events. Opening times, event days and booking matter more than a long story.
The Royal DocksDescribes itself as a unique waterfront and a growing home for business and culture in Newham (Royal Docks).Firms selling to other businesses here are looked up before anyone answers an email: capability pages, sectors served and a simple way to ask for a price.

We only describe places we could source. Trading in Stratford, Walthamstow, Barking, Hornchurch, Upminster or elsewhere in east London? Say so on the first call and your site will cover it properly, with the jobs and customers you really have there.

Enquiry flows that fit: shops, trades and professional firms.

Buyers differ, so the route to an enquiry differs too. These three cover most of the east London mix above.

Three kinds of east London business, the question each visitor arrives with, and how the site turns it into an enquiry
BusinessThe visitor’s first questionHow the site answers it
Shops, cafés and market tradersThat you are open, where to find you and what you have today.Opening hours and trading days at the top, a map link, a WhatsApp button for “do you have…?” questions and, where it suits you, order-ahead or table requests.
Trades and garagesDo you come to my road, is your work any good, and will someone answer?A tap-to-call bar fixed to the foot of the phone screen, then a booking or quote request: the job, the postcode or number plate, and when to ring back.
Professional and technology firmsDo you handle my kind of problem, what does the first meeting cost me, and can I trust you?One page for each service, a plain “what happens after you get in touch” note, and an initial-chat form that never asks for sensitive details.

Enquiries land in your own inbox, and your number sits on every page. Trades can see the full call, quote and coverage layout on our websites for trades page.

How an east London business works with Buzzozo, step by step
1. A short callTwenty minutes by phone, video or WhatsApp. Tell us what you sell, who your customers are and which enquiries are worth the most to you. Nothing to prepare; we bring the questions.
2. Your patch, on the mapTogether we mark the boroughs, high streets and E, IG and RM districts you serve and how far you will go for a job. The site then names those places and nowhere you would turn down.
3. Your real examplesSend whatever you already have: photos of work, menus, certificates, reviews. The pages are built around them. Where you have nothing yet, the space stays blank until you do; no stock photos posing as your work.
4. Looked after every monthAfter launch we run the hosting, the updates, the backups and the monitoring. New price, new hours, new service? Message us and it goes live.

Ilford is where Buzzozo Ltd has been registered since April 2024 (Companies House). It is a registered address, not a walk-in office: we have no shop front, studio or branch in east London, and every step above works by phone, WhatsApp, email or video.

Close to home, we built an Ilford garage’s website with MOT, servicing and repair pages, booking requests and a chat assistant that answers from the garage’s own information (see it on our home page). That is the only east London example on this page, because we do not make up clients. The better test is your own site: you see it working before any money changes hands.

Buy it piece by piece and watch it add up.

Every part of the Website plan is something UK businesses pay for on its own. Here is what premium UK specialists typically charge for each part when you buy it on its own. Add them up and you get the bill below.

Your plan: £0 upfront, a custom website free for 14 days, no card needed. Then £149 a month at the founding price, kept for life by the first 100 businesses. From £299 a month after that.

How we worked it out: we read published UK web design and website maintenance price guides, and the price pages of premium hosting, certificate, chat and search providers, on 29 October 2026, and took the top of each typical range. Hosting, SSL and chat are priced in US dollars; we show them in pounds at the European Central Bank rate of 28 October 2026 and leave them out of the first-year total, which counts design plus 12 months of care. The guides do not say whether their figures include VAT, so we show them as published. Our prices exclude VAT where applicable. Market prices change, so check before you buy.

Website design in east London: questions we get asked.

How much does website design cost for an east London business?

The Website plan is £149 a month: the founding price for the first 100 businesses, kept for life. After those 100 places it is from £299 a month, and Website + CRM is from £599 a month. There is nothing to pay upfront, the first 14 days are free and we do not ask for a card. If you keep the site after the trial, it simply continues at £149 a month; if you would rather not, it comes down and there is no bill. Our prices exclude VAT where applicable.

Do you have an office in east London?

Buzzozo Ltd is registered at 1022 Eastern Avenue, Ilford, IG2 7SE, so east London is home. We do not run a walk-in office, shop front, studio or branch there or anywhere else, and we do not ask you to visit us. Everything happens by phone, WhatsApp and email, and you review your free website on your own screen.

Which parts of east London do you work in?

All of it, and the rest of the UK, because the work is done remotely. Most enquiries from east London come from places in Redbridge, Newham, Barking and Dagenham, Havering, Waltham Forest and Tower Hamlets. Your site mentions only the areas you genuinely serve, backed by real jobs there. A copy-and-paste page per postcode looks like spam to search engines, so we do not build them.

I run a market stall or a small shop. Is a website worth it?

Yes, if it does three things. A stall’s site shows trading days, where the pitch is, this week’s stock and a way to order or ask ahead. A shop’s shows opening hours, directions and a call or WhatsApp button that works in one tap. We write those pages for you and keep them up to date when you send a change.

What is included in the £149 a month?

Design, copywriting and the build of your site; Buzzozo cloud hosting with SSL, a CDN, daily backups, security monitoring and software updates; on-page SEO and a build ready for AI search; contact forms with click-to-call and WhatsApp; an AI chat assistant with a monthly usage allowance; your domain held in your name; and UK support. Search campaigns sit outside the plan and are quoted per job.

I run an accountancy practice, a clinic or a law firm. Can the chat assistant answer my clients?

It can handle the admin side: opening hours, which services you offer, how to book, and taking down an enquiry for your team. It does not give accounting, medical or legal advice. Anything that needs a professional answer is passed to a person at your firm, who reviews it and replies.

Tell us about your east London business. We'll build the site.
