Web design Woking: websites for a town between the railway and the canal.
Web design Woking, planned around a commuter town that shops, works and eats between the railway and the canal: we design, write, host and manage your website for a fixed £149 a month. We work remotely from Ilford with firms from Horsell to West Byfleet. Begin with a free 14-day trial, no card needed.

Who is searching for a Woking business, and from where?
The Borough of Woking covers 64 square kilometres in north-west Surrey and had 103,900 residents in 2021 (Woking (read 29 October 2026)). Woking town is the main centre, ringed by smaller places with their own identities: West Byfleet and Byfleet to the east, Knaphill to the west. The town centre sits about 23 miles from central London, and its main shopping and office streets lie between the railway line and the Basingstoke Canal. Victoria Place and the Peacocks Shopping Centre both open onto Jubilee Square.
The station shapes who your customers are. Woking is the busiest railway station in Surrey and, as of 2024, the fifth busiest in South East England (Woking railway station (read 29 October 2026)). If many of your customers commute, they may only have time to look you up on the way home, so the website has to work from a phone in the evening. The borough also works for itself: in the 2015 to 2016 Annual Population Survey, 85% of working-age residents were in employment against a Surrey average of 80%, and 14% were self-employed against 12% for the county. If you are one of those sole traders, your website may be the only thing answering at 9pm. For the rest of the county, see our web design Surrey page.
The town has a long memory of being looked at. H. G. Wells wrote most of The War of the Worlds between 1895 and 1898 while living in Maybury Road, and in the story the first Martian cylinder lands on Horsell Common. A seven-metre Martian Tripod sculpture has stood at one end of Crown Square since April 1998. In 1889 the Shah Jahan Mosque became the first purpose-built mosque in the UK. If your business sits near any of them, your website can say so for visitors who search before they come.
From Horsell Common to West Byfleet: what does each customer want first?
| The town centre: Victoria Place, Peacocks and Jubilee Square | A shopper or theatregoer with an hour to fill. The shopping centres meet at Jubilee Square, and the 1,300-seat New Victoria Theatre brings an evening crowd into town. A restaurant, bar or salon nearby should show its opening hours on show nights, a menu that matches the kitchen, and a booking button that works one-handed on a phone. |
|---|---|
| Horsell and the edge of the common | A buyer from an engineering or technology firm. Horsell had 9,384 residents in 2012 and remains largely rural in character, while the McLaren Technology Centre was built on the northern edge of Horsell Common in the early 2000s. A machinist, fabricator, software contractor or caterer that supplies firms like it should state its capabilities, its standards and what a buyer must send to get a quote. |
| West Byfleet | A customer from the villages around it. Some 70 shops trade in West Byfleet, including hairdressers, beauty salons and estate and employment agents, and that retail mix draws people in from Pyrford, New Haw, Woodham, Byfleet and Ripley. A business here should name the neighbouring villages it serves and say plainly where its customers park. |
| Byfleet and the Brooklands side | A trade customer who wants it done properly. Byfleet is a village of medieval origin that grew quickly after the Brooklands motor circuit opened just to the north in 1907. A garage, specialist or restorer on this side of the borough should show its workshop, the makes it handles and how a car or part gets to it. |
| Knaphill and Goldsworth Park | A household looking for help nearby. Knaphill takes its name from the hill part of the village sits on and was first recorded in 1225. Goldsworth Park was planned as a garden estate of 4,500 homes for 15,000 residents. A cleaner, tutor, childminder or handyman serving these streets should say which roads it reaches and how fast it replies. |
| Sheerwater | A family choosing a service close to home. Sheerwater was built by London County Council after 1947, with 1,279 houses and flats by 1951, and its regeneration plan set out a new leisure centre and new homes. Clubs, tutors, food businesses and trades serving the estate should put prices, times and a way to ask a question right at the top of the page. |
| Old Woking | A customer who values care and experience. Old Woking predates the rest of the town by more than 1,000 years, and residents have recorded over 100 buildings in its parish built before 1700. The village once had a substantial automotive sector in repair and retail. A builder used to older properties, or a long-standing garage, should lead with real photographs of past work and how long it has traded. |

The website advice in the table is how we would plan a page. It does not describe client work or results.
Which Woking businesses do we build for?
The latest official count of Woking enterprises (Nomis UK Business Counts, 2026 (read 29 October 2026)) shows a professional town. Professional, scientific and technical firms are the largest group by far, with 1,060. Next come construction (575), information and communication (560) and business administration and support (460). Retail (260), health (250) and accommodation and food (225) follow. The website advice differs for each.
Consultancies, advisers and professional firms: a buyer comparing three firms in an evening wants to see who you act for, what the first call covers and when you can start. We only publish qualifications and client names you can show us.
Technology and engineering: in the mid-2010s the biggest job providers in the borough were information technology, food and beverage services, and motor vehicle design and manufacture. In 2013 McLaren was the borough’s largest employer, and the McLaren Technology Centre was opened by Elizabeth II in 2004. Asahi Breweries had its UK headquarters in Woking as of 2022 (Woking (read 29 October 2026)). Smaller suppliers in that chain need clear capability pages, so we build those first.
Builders and trades: with 575 construction businesses in the borough, a homeowner has plenty of choice. A trade website should show finished jobs with dates, the areas covered and a quote form that asks for photos. Our websites for trades set out how we do it.
Food, drink and things to do: the Lightbox gallery has a free museum of Woking’s story and won the Art Fund Prize Museum of the Year in 2008 (The Lightbox (read 29 October 2026)). A café or restaurant near the galleries, the theatre or the canal towpath should be easy to find, book and reach from a phone.
How do we serve Woking from Ilford?
Buzzozo Ltd works from 1022 Eastern Avenue, Ilford IG2 7SE, in east London, the address shown in our company details. We do not have a Woking office or branch, and this page does not claim local clients, site visits or results. The work happens remotely: we talk by phone, WhatsApp and email, share drafts as links, and you review them on whatever you normally use. If you would like to meet in person, ask, and we will tell you honestly what we can arrange.
- Draw your patch. List the parts of the borough and the postcodes you work in, and where you stop. A Knaphill tutor has no reason to claim Byfleet just to look bigger.
- Choose the first action. A call, a quote with photos attached, a table for two or a link into the booking system you already pay for. Tell us who answers each one.
- Read every local line. You check the place names, prices, hours and photos in the draft. Your business owner approves anything said about the area before launch, and we never make up reviews or numbers to fill a gap.
- Use the real thing. For the free 14-day trial we put a working website live on our hosting. Try it on your own phone and laptop. No card is needed, and you can cancel any time.
- Send changes as they happen. We look after Buzzozo cloud hosting, SSL and updates. Message us new menus, prices or holiday hours; anything outside the plan’s scope is quoted before we start.
Two planning examples: a café near Jubilee Square might put show-night opening hours and a table booking above everything else, and a Byfleet engineering supplier might ask for a drawing, a material and a quantity in its quote form. They show how we plan; they are not named projects or promised outcomes.
Try your own website free for 14 days, no card needed. Already have a website? Tell us which enquiry routes it has that you want to keep.
What does the fixed £149 a month cover?
The Website plan is £149 a month, fixed, for the first 100 businesses, and the price is kept for life. It is month to month with no contract, so you can cancel any time. Our prices exclude VAT where applicable, and larger or more complex websites are quoted. The first 14 days are free, no card needed.
The table sets the plan beside what premium providers usually charge when each service is bought on its own. The figures are rounded from UK list prices we checked on 28 and 29 October 2026. Treat them as a guide, not a quote; providers change their prices.
| Service | Typical premium cost bought separately | Buzzozo Website plan |
|---|---|---|
| Custom website design | Typically around £2,000 + VAT, paid before launch | Included. Designed, written and built for your business, £0 upfront. |
| Managed hosting, SSL, CDN and backups | Usually a separate hosting bill, often paid a year ahead | Included. Buzzozo cloud hosting, SSL, CDN and daily backups. |
| Care plan: updates, security and fixes | Typically from about £50 a month | Included. Updates, security monitoring, fixes and UK support by phone, WhatsApp and email. |
| Website chat assistant | Typically about £45 a month per seat, paid yearly | Included, within the monthly usage allowance shown on our plans page. |
The plan covers the website and looking after it. Ongoing search campaigns, paid advertising, online shops and bespoke systems are scoped and priced separately. We do not promise rankings or a number of enquiries. See how a managed website works, or compare the plans.
Your Woking web design questions
Do you have a web design office in Woking?
No. Buzzozo Ltd is based at 1022 Eastern Avenue, Ilford IG2 7SE and works with Woking businesses remotely, by phone, WhatsApp and email. We do not claim a Woking office, branch, local client or visit on this page.
Which parts of Woking do you cover?
The whole borough, remotely: the town centre, Horsell, Maybury, Sheerwater, Knaphill, Goldsworth Park, Old Woking, Byfleet and West Byfleet. Your website names only the places your business really serves.
What does the Website plan cost?
£149 a month, fixed, for the first 100 businesses, and that price is kept for life. Prices exclude VAT where applicable. Larger or more complex websites are quoted, and the plans page sets out the full scope.
Is there a contract?
No. The plan runs month to month with no contract, so you can cancel any time. The first 14 days are a free trial, and no card is needed.
Most of my customers commute. What should my website do?
Make it easy to act outside office hours. A quote form, a booking link or a callback request should work on a phone, and the page should say when you will reply. We set that up as part of the plan.
How does the free 14-day trial work?
We build a real website on our hosting for you to try. The first 14 days are free and no card is needed. Keep it and it stays live on your chosen plan; stop and it comes down, with nothing to pay.
