What should a driving school’s website do?
A learner, or the parent paying for the lessons, wants four answers before they call: who will teach me, do you cover my area, what car will I learn in, and what does it cost? A driving school’s website answers those on a phone in a minute, then gives one clear next step: ask for a first lesson.
Trust comes first, because a learner spends hours in the car with you. GOV.UK says anyone you pay to teach you to drive must be either a qualified and approved driving instructor (ADI) or a trainee driving instructor, and that instructors display a green badge if qualified or a pink badge if they are a trainee (GOV.UK: taking driving lessons). So every instructor profile on your website states that status plainly, with a photo and the car they teach in.
Your own website is also where a learner can check you directly. Approved instructors choose whether to appear on the official instructor finder, so not every approved instructor is listed there (GOV.UK: find driving schools and lessons). Instructors set their own prices, with no minimum or maximum cost (GOV.UK: taking driving lessons), so learners compare. Clear prices, areas and availability turn that comparison into a booking request.
From first enquiry to test day: what does each learner need?
| Lesson prices and packages | A learner or parent comparing what lessons cost. Hourly rates, block bookings and any first-lesson offer, with the total price shown up front. Say how long a lesson lasts and how cancellations work, so nobody is surprised after the first booking. |
|---|---|
| Booking request form | A learner ready to start. A short form that asks for postcode, manual or automatic, experience so far and the days that suit them. Each request goes to the right instructor’s inbox or phone, so you can reply with a time. |
| Instructor profiles | A nervous learner checking who will sit beside them. A photo, a few lines in the instructor’s own words, ADI or trainee status, and the car they teach in. A calm, friendly profile does more for a nervous driver than any slogan. |
| Areas and test centres covered | A learner checking you cover their town. The towns and postcodes you cover, where you pick pupils up, and the test centres you know. One page per main area helps local searches without copying the same text across pages. |
| Manual, automatic, intensive and motorway courses | A learner deciding which course suits them. What each course involves and who it suits, from first lessons to refresher and motorway lessons. Learners can drive on a motorway only with an approved instructor in a dual-control car, so the course page says who can teach it. |
| Reviews and results | A learner looking for proof that you get people through. Reviews published with each pupil’s permission, and results you can show records for. A link to the official test centre statistics gives context without inventing a figure. |
Your own website includes only the parts your school needs. A sole instructor might need three; a school with several cars might need all six.
What rules should a driving school website follow?
Booking the test: learners must book their own appointment for car driving tests, and it is against the law to book a car driving test for someone else. Instructors cannot change, swap or cancel car driving tests for their pupils (GOV.UK: book a driving test for your pupil). So the website never says “we book your test”. It explains how you help a learner get ready and links to the official booking service.
Pass rates and reviews: advertising rules say marketers must hold documentary evidence that a testimonial is genuine, and must not feature a testimonial without permission (ASA: testimonials and endorsements). We publish a pass rate only if your records show it, with the period it covers. The government publishes driving test volumes and pass rates for each test centre (GOV.UK: driving test data by test centre), and we link that data rather than quote a figure we cannot check.
Your grade: Approved instructors usually have a standards check every 4 years (GOV.UK: ADI standards check), and the official finder lets learners check an instructor’s grade if they declare it. If you choose to show your grade, the website shows it as the official record states it.
Motorway lessons: GOV.UK says a learner can only drive on a motorway in England, Scotland or Wales with an approved driving instructor in a car fitted with dual controls (GOV.UK: driving lessons and learning to drive). Your course page says so, and names who can teach it.
Taking payment: the Website plan includes booking requests and links to the diary or payment service you already use. Live online booking with payments and pupil accounts is scoped and quoted separately, so you only pay for it when the school needs it.
How do we build your driving school website remotely?
Buzzozo works with driving schools remotely across the UK by phone, WhatsApp and email, so you never lose a lesson slot to a meeting. You know your pupils and your roads; we turn that into a website you can check on your own phone between lessons.
- Tell us about the school. Who teaches, which cars, manual or automatic, the areas and test centres you cover, and your current prices. Send photos of the instructors and cars if you have them.
- Write the words. We draft the instructor profiles, course pages and area pages from what you tell us. You approve every word before launch, and we never invent pass rates, reviews or qualifications.
- Set the booking route. Decide where each request goes: one inbox, each instructor’s phone, or WhatsApp. We add the questions you always ask a new pupil, so the first reply can offer a time.
- Try the live website. During the free 14-day trial you test the pages and booking requests on a real website. No card is needed, and you can cancel any time.
- Hand over the upkeep. We look after Buzzozo cloud hosting, SSL and software updates. Send us new prices, an instructor who joins or a new area. Anything outside the plan’s agreed scope is quoted before work starts.
For example, a sole instructor with an automatic car could list two towns, one price table and a request form that asks for availability. A school with several cars might add a profile for each instructor and an area page for each test centre it serves. These are planning examples, not named projects or promised outcomes.
Try your own driving school website free for 14 days, no card needed. If you already have a website, tell us which pages and links you want to keep.
What does the fixed £149 a month include?
The Website plan is £149 a month, fixed. It is monthly with no contract, so you can cancel any time. Our prices exclude VAT where applicable. Larger or more complex websites are quoted. The first 14 days are free, no card needed. The plans page sets out the full terms.
The table compares the plan with what premium providers typically charge when each service is bought separately. These figures are rounded from UK list prices we checked on 28 and 29 October 2026. They are a guide, not a quote, and providers change their prices.
| Service | Typical premium cost bought separately | Buzzozo Website plan |
|---|---|---|
| Custom website design | Typically around £2,000 + VAT, paid before launch | Included. Designed, written and built for your school, with £0 upfront. |
| Managed hosting, SSL, CDN and backups | Usually a separate hosting bill, often paid a year ahead | Included. Buzzozo cloud hosting, SSL, CDN and daily backups. |

The plan covers the website and its management. Live online booking with payments, ongoing search campaigns, paid advertising and bespoke systems are scoped and priced separately. We do not promise rankings, enquiries or pupils. See how a managed website works, or compare the plans.
Questions driving instructors ask about their website
Can pupils book lessons through my website?
Yes. The Website plan includes a booking request form and a link to the diary or booking app you already use. Live online booking with payments and pupil accounts is scoped and quoted separately.
Can I show my pass rate on my website?
Yes, if your records show it. Advertising rules say you must be able to prove what you publish, so we show the figure with the period it covers, or link the official test centre statistics instead. This is not legal advice.
Should my website say I am a trainee instructor?
Yes. GOV.UK says trainee instructors display a pink badge and qualified instructors a green badge. We label each instructor profile the same way, so learners know who will teach them.
Can my website book driving tests for pupils?
No. GOV.UK says learners must book their own car driving test, and it is against the law to book one for someone else. Your website explains how you prepare pupils and links to the official booking service.
How much is the Website plan?
The Website plan is £149 a month, fixed, monthly with no contract. Our prices exclude VAT where applicable. Larger or more complex websites are quoted. The plans page lists the full scope and terms.
