AI for startups: the admin handled, the decisions kept.
AI for startups earns its keep on the repeat admin that fills a small team’s week: answering website questions, capturing demo and waiting-list requests, and routing each enquiry to the right founder. We build your website with an AI chat assistant that does this, for a fixed £149 a month. Start with a free 14-day trial, no card needed.
£0 upfront. No card needed. Cancel any time. £149 a month, fixed, if you continue.

Where does AI help a startup first?
In the first year, the same few people write the product, talk to customers, chase invoices and answer the website. The questions that arrive through the website repeat. What does it do? Does it work with the tools we already use? Is there a pilot? Can we see a demo this week? Each one takes a founder away from building, and each one left unanswered overnight is a buyer who may not come back.
An AI chat assistant is good at exactly this kind of work. It answers from the facts you approve, at any hour, and hands the enquiry to a person with the details already collected. It is poor at the other kind of work: deciding on a discount, promising a feature date, judging whether a contract term is acceptable. A useful setup is built around that line, not around how much the assistant can be made to say.
So we start small. Pick the three or four questions your team answers most often, write the answers once, and decide where each kind of enquiry should go. That is enough for a first version you can test on your own website.
What should a startup hand to AI, and what stays with the founders?
| Product and pricing questions | Answered from the facts you approve: what the product does, who it is for, your published plans and how a pilot works. It never invents a feature, a discount or a roadmap date. |
|---|---|
| Demo and waiting-list requests | Collected with the person’s name, company, email and what they want to solve. A founder confirms the time; the assistant does not commit your diary. |
| Routing enquiries | Each message is tagged as sales, support, partnership, press or investor, and sent to the inbox you choose, so the right founder replies first. |
| First-customer support | Common how-to questions answered from your own help notes. Bugs, refunds and account problems go straight to a person. |
| Follow-up | Reminders for your team to reply. Marketing emails only go to people who agreed to them. |
| Contracts, prices off the list, hiring, legal, tax or investment questions | Always a person. The assistant says the question needs your team and turns it into a call request with the details attached. |
Building in a regulated field?
Fintech, health technology, legal technology and recruitment startups get the same setup with a firmer line. The assistant supports admin and enquiries only: it explains what your product is, collects contact details and the reason for the enquiry, and passes everything to a person who reviews it. It never gives financial, medical, legal or other professional advice, and it is set up to recognise those questions and hand them over rather than answer them.
Your team decides what the assistant may say, checks its answers before launch and can see every conversation. If your regulator has rules on how you describe your product, the approved facts should come from the wording you already use. This page explains how we build the assistant; it is not legal or compliance advice.
Which UK data rules apply from day one?
An enquiry chat collects personal data, so data protection applies from the first conversation. The Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) is the regulator, and its guidance is the primary source. These are the points we build around. Read the guidance for your own business, because this page is not legal advice.
- Pay the data protection fee unless you are exempt. The ICO says organisations, including sole traders, that use personal information need to pay a data protection fee unless they are exempt (ICO: data protection fee).
- Tell people at the time. Privacy information must be given to people when you collect their personal data from them (ICO: the right to be informed). The chat and the enquiry form link to your privacy notice.
- Collect only what you need. Personal data should be adequate, relevant and limited to what is necessary for your purpose (ICO: data minimisation). The public chat asks for contact details and the reason for the enquiry; anything sensitive belongs in your own secure process.
- Get consent before marketing emails. You must not send marketing emails or texts to individuals without specific consent, with a limited exception for your own previous customers (ICO: electronic mail marketing). A demo request is not a newsletter sign-up; the form asks separately.
- Keep decisions with people. The ICO guidance on AI covers fairness and transparency, and it notes the guidance is under review after the Data (Use and Access) Act (ICO: guidance on AI and data protection). Our assistant makes no decisions about anyone: it answers, collects and hands over.
What does this look like for a two-founder team?
Planning example. Two founders sell scheduling software to clinics and gyms. One builds; the other sells and does everything else. At eleven at night, an operations manager asks the website whether the software works with their calendar and how the pilot works. The assistant answers from the approved list of integrations and the published pilot terms, then asks for a name, work email, company and a good time to talk. The enquiry reaches the sales inbox tagged as a demo request.
The same visitor also asks where customer data is stored. That answer depends on the contract and the founders’ own setup, so the assistant says a founder will confirm it and adds the question to the request. In the morning, the selling founder opens one message with everything in it, confirms the demo and answers the data question personally.
This is an illustration of how we set the assistant up, not a named client or a measured result.
How do we set it up?
- Write down the facts. Your product description, plans, pilot terms, integrations, opening hours and the questions you answer every week. We turn them into the assistant’s approved answers.
- Choose the routes. Decide which inbox gets sales, support, partnerships, press and investor messages, and which questions always go to a person.
- Check the answers. A founder reviews the assistant’s answers before launch. Nothing goes live that your team has not read.
- Try it on your website. Use the free 14-day trial to ask it the awkward questions yourself. No card is needed, and you can cancel any time.
- Keep it current. When pricing, features or terms change, send us the new facts and we update the assistant and the pages together.

What does the fixed £149 a month include?
The Website plan is £149 a month, fixed. It is monthly with no contract, so you can cancel any time. Our prices exclude VAT where applicable. Larger or more complex websites are quoted. The first 14 days are free, no card needed. The plans page sets out the full terms.
The table compares the plan with what premium providers typically charge when each service is bought separately. These figures are rounded from UK list prices we checked on 28 and 29 October 2026. They are a guide, not a quote, and providers change their prices.
| Service | Typical premium cost bought separately | Buzzozo Website plan |
|---|---|---|
| Custom website design | Typically around £2,000 + VAT, paid before launch | Included. Designed, written and built for your startup, with £0 upfront. |
| Managed hosting, SSL, CDN and backups | Usually a separate hosting bill, often paid a year ahead | Included. Buzzozo cloud hosting, SSL, CDN and daily backups. |
| Care plan: updates, security and fixes | Typically from about £50 a month | Included. Updates, security monitoring, fixes and UK support by phone, WhatsApp and email. |
| Website chat assistant | Typically about £45 a month per seat, paid yearly | Included, with the monthly usage allowance listed on our plans page. |
For a small team, that means one monthly cost for the website, its upkeep and the assistant, and no separate bills to manage. The BuzzozoHub CRM, missed-call text-back and bespoke tools sit in larger plans, quoted on the plans page. We do not promise rankings, sign-ups or enquiry numbers. Questions from startup founders
Can an AI assistant replace our first support hire?
Not on its own. It answers the repeat questions from facts you approve and collects the details of everything else, so the person who replies starts with the full picture. Refunds, bugs, account problems and anything unusual still need a person.
Will the assistant make up features or prices?
It is set up to answer only from the facts you approve. If a visitor asks about something that is not in them, such as a feature date or a price off the list, it says your team will confirm and passes the question on.
Can it answer legal, tax or investment questions?
No. It explains your product, collects the enquiry and hands anything that needs professional advice to your team. For startups in regulated fields, it supports admin and enquiries only, with a person reviewing every hand-over.
Is the AI assistant included in the £149 a month plan?
Yes. The Website plan, £149 a month fixed, includes the AI chat assistant with a monthly usage allowance; top-ups are available. The BuzzozoHub CRM and missed-call text-back sit in larger plans.
We already have a website. Can you help?
Yes. Tell us which website you use and how enquiries reach you now. We will look at what you have before suggesting a setup, and the free trial lets you compare a working version side by side.
How does the free 14-day trial work?
We build a real website with the assistant switched on, on our hosting, for you to review. The first 14 days are free, with no card needed. If you continue, it stays live on your chosen plan. If not, it comes down and you owe nothing.
